Mr Ellabban is a consultant ophthalmologist specialising in cataract and retinal surgery.

He was trained across the UK, Japan, and Egypt and completed a PhD from the world-renowned Kyoto University (Japan) focusing on retinal diseases.

He has diverse experience in retinal surgery and offers state-of-the-art suture-less retinal surgery for a range of retinal disorders including macular hole, epiretinal membrane, floaters, vitreous haemorrhage, and retinal detachment. He also provides intravitreal injection treatments for retinal disorders including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular oedema, and retinal vein occlusion.

He has performed more than 10,000 cataract surgeries using the latest technology in surgery. He has a passion for delivering the best possible care for his patients.

He is a Senior Lecturer at Hull York Medical School and has more than 40 publications in peer-reviewed ophthalmic journals. His research has been presented in major ophthalmology meetings across the world and he has been invited as a guest speaker to many national and international meetings. He has participated in over 15 multicentre trials investigating new modalities for treatments for retinal diseases.
